[ im feelin this: crampy ]
[soundtrack to life: Theme to Brokeback Mountain]

A late nod to the grammy winners, of whom I didn't realize there were so many! Kanye West went home with a few and of course U2's "how to dismantle an atomic bomb" basically swept its categories. I would like to point out that B.Y.O.B. took home an award from System of a Down, how that happened, I don't know but if the music academy wants to recognize it, I say good on ya mates. Also Get Behind me Satan took a category, proving to the world that the white stripes are a damn good band. Usually I don't speak to fondly of the awards but with the wave of Alt. Rock becoming a force to be reckoned with, see Greenday, winning an award for Boulevard of Broken Dreams, et all from last year where they won repeatedly for American Idiot, I can only comment as a music lover to say, YAY to all those nominated and all those winning awards. In other news, Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley fame and recent solo fame for Rabbit Fur Coat, one of my new favorites, got a full page spread in the Newsday on long island(strong island, if you will). The review wasn't unlike the ones online, excpet for a little less informed, making no mention of her boyfriend playing with her and the audience being full of celebs etc. But the article surprised me to the fact that they made note of it in such a perodicle like the newsday.
Also, internet= best place to hear live shows. I have recently stumbled upon many of my favourite artists, see Decemberists, Jenny Lewis, Sufjan Stevens, shows cut up in mp3 format per track and also as one long stream. This included the tour that Colin Meloy finnished up recently, fortunately giving my little hands a song to grab on to such as the one for his little baby on the way. I've also been privy to some un released tracks in the US due to the fact I am re-addicted to the Australian version of clearchannel/infinity, Triple J.
A brief intro to triple J: they curse, they play really crazy music including such things as australian rap..., they play new Living End music because it has already been released in Oz and the tracks i have heard are off the chain, if you will. The channel is still a bit more poppy than an indie station and a bit more radical than a rock station, but great all the same. They also were the first to release information about Brit's second little bump, which has no business being born, if you can't put your child in a car seat and you have like 6 platinum records, you don't deserve another one.
Check out K-fed on myspace music. I'm sure its the "bomb-diggity"
I was snowed in the other day, but what that translated to was I went to hoboken in the snow storm and had to navigate my way home with a pack of friends and snow blowing in our eyes, and there were three pee-walkers, no crab-pee-walkers, because well it was a blizzard, no way im gonna let my bits be out in it. John's paintings can be seen at the Frozen Monkey on Washington st. Hoboken, by 6th street. I hope they sell, they are rather large. sunday was filled with ciders, pasta and fake white castles, as well as thumbsucker, which I can't say i was all that pleased with, although the cast did include Vince Vaughn and Vincent D'Norfrio, who never did that thing he always does, cock his head to one side and talk like he does on L&O.

Well thats about it for now.
