ok so now for the blogging!
what is new: hmm, i went to see my new abode on monday, but wait there is more before:
ok rachel came up to visit/ drool with me over chris richards on saturday i met up with her and fam. we went to moma and saw some kick arse photography and i was starved so we spent 12 bucks at the caf on ice cream sundae and coffay. then teany was had and it was everything i had wanted it to be, i missed it so much. i havent been to teany in months literally. i think the last time i went was in may with elisa. we went after our last city class, and i walked home across the willy-b for one of the last times. But! not for long. as i will be living there soon, wait, cant get ahead of myself. ok so after teany dinner, sleep etc in hoboken. then on sunday rach and i went on a search for goucho pants of which i didnt find any in my price range. we got rained on 5 times. we went down to w.4 to go to angelika and see broken flowers, packed theatre, i pretty much disliked it. after that we made our way to canal st and ate mcdonalds because i dont want to eat chinese food down on canal and it was still pouring and we were without umbrella. then we walked finally in peace to the knitting factory to see chris richards aka ris paul ric and earthen sea and daniel mccormic, who we missed, but somewhat on purpose...
my thoughts on earthen sea have thus formulated: ambient music like that makes me pensive and so pensive that i became aware and super aware of my surroundings as if i were on some substance. but i was clean, so it was totally the music. very weird in a good way. i couldn't really see either which made me focus on everything but the visual of someone playing this music that seemed to never end and yet i didnt really want it to. i was confused as to if it was going to be single songs or if it was going to just continue and there were no breaks so i think that made it more impactful. anyways rach and i shared a moment about it between ris and earth.
chris richards is one awesome guy. i have to say the performace seemed dumb and fumbled and very juvenile, but i loved it!!! it wasn't like i was seeing QandnotU it was a very small small setting and there was just him and dan on the percussion. they didnt have guitar pics and they didnt have good mics and everything was very fresh almost like with Q they have some kind of power and they understand how to set up and be ready for the usual songs they have been playing for months or years, but with chris he seemed very exposed and not very sure of himself, very niave. i liked it alot. if youd like to hear any of these musicians go here:
