[soundtrack to life: a movie on lifetime about creepy men]

so: I came home for a few days and we went to the beach. Shots will follow.
Other than that not much else is new, I've been working on my practicum project for a little while and trying not to think about work.
The apartment search begins soon and I'm very excited about it. I can't wait to have a say in the next place i live in and get to go looking back in brooklyn. I really cannot wait to be back there, living out of the boroughs is so weird, it's just not me. (said the girl from the suburbs).
Here's my photos:
below in this order:

me, view from my balcony, view of cool lights on playland, glitteroti shoes on the dirty groundcomplete opposites
row2: glitter shoes, sign on sportland arcade, LOVESthe best lemoade and funnel cakes, and a picture of crabs, old bay and natty boh.

row3:my foot in the sand, saucy me, YOU LOST, ticket sign
row4: toboggan light up sign, view from Tony's Rooftop Dining, myself before the trip(notice my spiders) and my love.

[ im feelin this:pretty shitty ]
[soundtrack to life: daily show repeats-wait I'm changing the channel ]

so over dinner my mother tells me that I need to work out because I have put on weight.
THANX, MOM. Now I remember why I live in a different state. Boy, sometimes I love coming home, wouldn't you?
Anyways, so now I have to watch what I eat I guess, so what. I just weighed myself last week and I was how much I thought I weighed, so I wasn't upset, be it that I know I am a little bit more than I would like to weigh, I don't feel very fat. AAAnd I work out just about once or twice a week doing harcore pilates.
Oh well. And I just saw an Ortho commercial and I need to go to planned parenthood, but there aren't any near me in Jersey, so I'd have to go to one of the ones in Manhattan, but I need to make an appointment, based on my cycle and then oh yeah, the cause of all this shit, my job.

Well I'm sure you wanted to know all of that, but fuck it this is for me. So, I'm fat, I'm alone, and I'm doomed to spend the next few days in the O.C. with my mum and brothers. Not that I don't love my mother et all, but sometimes I really remember why I can't live at home anymore.
So before I was fat today, I went to DC and I was having a great day with Rachel. Here's some shots of my day, brace yourself, they're artsy and not very fun shots.

My Trip To DC- By Kindel
I parked and met rachel here:

We ate lunch at this place and the guy next to us asked us if we went to college(your mom goes to college). Then we went for a walk(to get ice cream, but I won't tell you that beacause then you will think I am fat).
Here's our shadows:

We were walking on this: apparently on the other side was Rock Creek Park.

We walked on crazy brick streets.

DC has the weirdest stoplights. I swear, and I always forget until I have to stop at some and I'm looking around hoping I didn't just run a bunch before.

Ps the other day I went to see the Hollow Men. I sat really close, laughed a whole lot and they were great.

[ im feelin this:hungry ]
[soundtrack to life: good stuff-b52's ]

heyhey:
heres what ive been up to:
well due to late trains i didn't get to go to siren festival.:( boo hoo. anyways i was halfway there in a not-so-nice part of brooklyn and we decided to turn around because QandnotU went on at 4 and it was already 4:30 and we would never make it. oh well i think im going to make sure that the stars align so i can go to one of the black cat shows..which means i need to get tix like now!

anyways what did happen is i got tickets to see the hollow men(as seen on comedy central) limited engagement at the village theatre down on bleeker st. and it was their last show there, starting at 10:30pm, so we had some time to kill. but the major reason we turned around was the imax theatre at lincoln centre was showing charlie and the chocolate factory at 5:30 so if we turned around in sunset park, bk, we could maybe make it there in time. well we did, but it was sold out. so we got regular tix to see it there at 7:30 my feelings on it are still not very cemented- i think the first one is better and creepier but this one was more entertaining and better put together although too much CGI makes me bitter and i felt like there was a little too much. but thats just me. if you haven't seen it, you must go, it is very worth it, j. depp is a very good wonka. there were other things i didnt quite understand like he was supposed to be english and as a child he was and his father was(stop reading if you haven't seen it) and we as an audience know that j.depp does a smashing english accent (pirates, finding neverland) so why not here? the vocal choice was very interesting and a less threatening more *excuse this* peter-pan-esque style, boy eternal type deal. still a good movie but it will never replace the original.

anyways on to other things, after lunch at ollie's noodle shop and charlie, we went downtown and saw the hollow men perform. and they were awesome. i thought they were great. they did a few bits from the show but they did some other's i'd never seen. they were really funny and probably the closest i will get to seeing the kids in the hall live in a small, smalllll theatre.
they'll never be as good as the kids, but i'd have to say they are the next generation of foreign sketch comedy. They also re-kindeled (yeah i did that on purpose) the thought that i could be a part of something like that and make a living doing something fun. ps, i also went to UCB theatre a few weeks ago and saw my roomate in a show there, but i didnt think it was very good. ive heard that the students in the final level courses there are good, but johnny boy is just in the second course, and i felt like i had done better improv in my acting classes in the kitchen(an excercise). iii dunno. if i had the money i'd love to take an improv class there, because they are the Upright Citizen's Brigade and i absolutely adored their tv show and their work.

anwyays enough about me, how was your day?

Image hosted by Photobucket.comdid you forget i was in the city?

Image hosted by Photobucket.comcool water through the fence

Image hosted by Photobucket.comanother city shot

Image hosted by Photobucket.comand in one of the kiddie parks, elephants that shot water!

my park trips have been wonderful and also, on another note, on my way to the park i had to take the PATH train into the city and inbetween like 14 and 23 st, there was this add in the tunnel, for a car, but it was like a flip book because of the way the train passes through the tunnel, it was awesum, i really was amazed by it, i dont mean to say i liked it, because it made me feel like a lunatic and no one else seemed all that amazed by it, but it blew my mind. so the next time you are on the train, look out for ads inside the tunnels, theyre out there. the ad i saw was for range rover cars and the way the train passed through the tunnel caused the car to flip around as if it was a commercial, the car moved from left to right giving you a full view of the whole car. the whole experience couldnt have lasted more than 30 seconds probably less because it wa short enough to make me feel crazy and long enough to make me know it was real.

[ im feelin this: sentimental ]
[soundtrack to life :absolutely nothing ]
so i found a super cool blog today, im pretty sure ive heard of it before, but since the addy is in MD im not sure if it was through friends or city paper etc. but anyways the project is postcard secrets and it can be found here.

the project involves people mailing in their secrets to an unknown guy in md who then posts his favs on the blog. but the theraputic part of it is the writing and the mailing in of these secrets. i thought it was great and really worth reading, yes i wonder if any are fake but if so someone went really out of their way to drag up a fake memory or secret and make a personal postcard about it. so they went through a lot of effort to do so. anyways, so today i plan on making some more mirrors you can see my unfinished ones here or ikea hahah anyways im painting and styling mirrors and i plan on selling them to turn a profit along with my bags and yes i promise as soon as i get some more money i am going to put it into stenciling supplies and that includes larger sized bags(ive already looked into them) and more paint more paper more everything. i might just be able to work on them in the next week when im not working and when im not at home visiting.

so if you are interested in the mirrors and the bags and anything else i plan on selling, let me know my email is as always here: xkindelx@gmail.com
everything is moderately priced and more moderately if you are a friend or i know you or even if i just like you.

other than that i really want to put some time into my crafty-ness and make it a real business venture so if you know the tips and tricks of the trade and you want to help me out, shoot me a holla, don.
but for now, im broke, my room is messy, my hair needs a good chop chop, my teeth hurt and im about to get into the shower. i will be spending the rest of the day making my mirrors and researching more bags etc.
lots of crafty love today.

[ im feelin this:sunny ]
[soundtrack to life : ramones-sheena is a punk rawker ]
so trusty readers, i offer you my thoughts on Haunted, by Chuck Palahniuk. if you check my earlier posts, you will find an initial post about when i started reading this book(about a month ago) and some links to audio and story of guts one of the stories involved with haunted. So on a scale of 0 to tuna can i give it a 6. ive read better books and sad to say i think that he does write the same story over and over again with different characters and plot settings but same premises, this one happened to be more than one main character and each person was going to a writer's workshop(coincidentally, chuck hosts a writers workshop on his official site here )
at this workshop, these would be authors get into wacky situations(if you can call them wacky) and end up killing eachother off, but not murder, forced suicide(if you will). the situations that the characters get into cause them to want to be the one writer that gets the events right and takes the rights to the writen work that they will finalize once the retreate is over. the whole thing is done inside an old theatre and everything inside is controlled by one mr. whittier(i dont know how to spell it because i had the audio cds). anyways the initial situations are comfortable, laundry, hot water, food etc, but the aspiring authors soon doom themselves in search of plot twists. they sabatoge every convience so that when they break out they have an awesome story to report and reap their millions, this causes people to kill cats and eat them, slice off people's asses and attempt to feed it to the slicee after she has proven to not be dead, and of course, bobit-ing themselves, and by that i mean penis cutting off.
the lenghts that the characters go to to cause carnage is a little false and unrealistic but then again whats realistic about a cult member becoming a nationwide prayer-leader agaisnt pornography and dying in a plane crash? or someone beating themselves up and mistaking it for another person and not sleeping for months? or someone going across the country in search of the purpose of a children's poem and causing deaths left and right?
the parts of the book i enjoyed the most were the accounts from the actual characters, stories they had written about their pasts, giving you an insight into who they were. some of my favourites were guts, slummin it, footwork and mr. whitter's story(i forget the name of it)
guts of course can be read from the link below, slummin it was in playboy i think and it is a story about glitteroti becoming homless for the beauty of it all, jet setting to the extreme no home etc, and mr. whitter's story is about his progeria(a disease that causes rapid aging) and how he guilted women all over into sexual favours etc. The later stories, tho, tend to be lacking in beliveability and goodness, the last one, although i liked it, was about a futuristic world where we all want to die on earth so that our souls will meet on venus and thats where the party is at, not here, so everyone has happy death kits and happily go into death awaiting the happy ending. another was about a woman in charge of the dolls used in cpr training and in child therapy sessions, but by accident the woman orders anatomically correct dolls and it causes craziness in the police department.
if you like chuck palahniuk, of course you are going to read it, if you dont know his work, read fight club or choke or survivor first, then move onto other readings. id have to say the work was good, different in setup than the others, but nothing all that special.
anyways, this has become a very long review, but i liked some parts of the book bette than others, one might say the individual accounts from the characters would have made a better book put together rather than a full plot overtop of that.

anyways im still reading diary and i think i like it slightly better than haunted, but i still cant tell, i am less wowed by his writing the more i read, still i love the way he writes so im trapped.
